I recently read that if you’re going to be okay in your later years, you should probably have some sort of spiritual consciousness. It’s an antidote to fear and anxiety while contemplating the end of physical life.
So: Create Your Own Spirituality
Possible elements:
1. All things in the universe, including non-physical things like thoughts or ideas, are energy. Even solid rock is composed of energy, moving or vibrating in a given pattern.
2. Energy is both intelligent and creative. Constantly in motion, ever outward from its beginning at the Big Bang, its movement evolves. Evolution. We — that is, you and I — are the result of that. So is everything else.
3. That energy which creates is called positive. What dissembles or destroys, is called negative. These two poles, positive and negative, create our universe of duality. Creative energy, or Love, and Destructive energy, or Fear are energy’s primary manifestations.
4. All things are expressions of that universal, intelligent, creative energy, Love. Fear doesn’t exist as a real expression of this same energy but rather as the absence of it. Fear is just the absence of Love.
5. As creative beings, you and I create what we focus our attention on.
6. What you believe dictates what you pay attention to. In turn, what you pay attention to will dictate your experiences. You can manage this by considering a belief to be just a thought you think a lot. Change your thinking and you change your belief. What you believe…
These are the basics, and if you can generally accept them, you are in fact creating your own spirituality. You can build from here. If you prefer, you can label that original energy (what I’m calling Love) God, and pull from the Bible that you were created in the image and likeness of God, making you a sort of mini-creator. Or you can consider all of this an Energy Model, just one possible and workable explanation of the what and how of everything. In either case, you are the creative individuation of that essential energy (or God), imbued with its creative essence and ability.
And, remember that, according to the Law of Conservation of Energy, energy cannot be created or destroyed, it can only be transformed. That seems to mean, related to us, that we Energy Beings can’t be destroyed, only made to transform into whatever is our next adventure.
